SETTING STRATEGIC DIRECTION

Setting Strategic Direction

One of the key responsibilities of Sussex Police Authority is to set the strategic direction for policing in Sussex.  The Authority fulfills this responsibility in all of its work, but predominantly in the following areas:

  • The search, selection and appointment of the Chief Constable and other senior officers, who then professionally lead Sussex Police;
  • the development and publication of the Local Policing Plan (LPP);
  • the setting of the budget for the policing of Sussex.
