SCRUTINISING PERFORMANCE

The Authority's key strategic role at scrutinising performance to ensure an effective and efficient policing service for the people of Sussex, is multi-faceted, and is what we do, every day at every interaction with Sussex Police.  However, the key elements of our approach to scrutinising performance can be broken down into three distinct elements; Scrutiny Committees, Upholding Standards and Lead Members.

LEAD MEMBERS

Lead MembersAn essential element of the work of the Authority in scrutinising performance in Sussex Police, is through our Lead Members. Members of the Authority are allocated, often depending on their skills and professional/personal interests, responsibility for the oversight of departments, geographical policing areas or high risk, cross-cutting issues such as Diversity.
