Every year Sussex Police Authority holds their annual general meeting as one of the many scrutiny committees and meetings held throughout the year. As well as the usual full Police Authority business this meeting is an annual roundup of the previous year and a look ahead to the coming months.

This year sees the end of Laurie Bush and Steve Waight's first year as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Authority. Each year the Authority elects a new Chairman and Vice Chairman, this year Laurie Bush and Steve Waight have been re-elected in their respective positions to serve for another year.

Dr Laurie Bush sets out his vision for Sussex Police Authority for the year ahead: "I am delighted to be serving Sussex as Chairman of the Police Authority for another year. Steve Waight as the Vice Chairman, and I know that there are a lot of challenges ahead and we intend to use our experiences over the past year to shape our thinking for the future.

"It is both a privilege and a responsibility to serve as Chairman of the Authority and to ensure that the people of Sussex are heard and represented in all that I and my fellow Police Authority members do."
