
Introduction
Sussex Police Authority is currently under an inspection process by a joint team of inspectors. The inspection team, led by the Audit Commission on this occasion, includes inspectors from Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC), a Member inspector from another police authority and an expert advisor senior officer from another Authority.
The inspection will consider the work of the Authority in shaping the policing of Sussex, including the scrutiny of performance and the representation of the views of the public when setting the Local Policing Plan and the budget for Sussex Police. The Authority welcomes this opportunity to have external expert feedback on its work and it is hoped that this will be a further driver for continuous improvement.
Inspectors are analysing all aspects of the work of the Authority, concluding a five day on-site visit during the week commencing 15 March 2010. The report from the inspectors will be published on 17 June 2010 and will be available on this site or from www.audit-commission.gov.uk

Accommodation Details for Inspection Team
During the onsite visit (week commencing 15 March 2010) the inspection team will be accommodated and based for interviews and meetings at the Shelleys Hotel, Lewes (http://www.the-shelleys.co.uk/).
