Ensuring Value for Money

The Authority works very hard on behalf of the people of Sussex to ensure that policing in the County is delivered with the best possible value for money. The Authority plans ahead to meet the financial challenges head-on, thereby protecting the delivery of frontline policing services. 

We approach this overarching responsibility by ensuring that the Authority has strong financial management, with absolute commitment to making the best use of partnership working. The Authority scrutinises the work of Sussex Police through our Lead Members and Governance structure.  Checks and balances of all of our work is then underpinned by Audit by our appointed auditors and the Audit Commission.
