CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

Terms of Reference

  1. To seek innovative ways to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Sussex Police Authority, commissioning work from officers and Members to report back to the Group;
  2. To prepare the Authority for inspection by the Audit Commission and HMIC;
  3. To oversee an annual (autumn) self-assessment of the work of the Authority;
  4. To prepare annually a Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) for the Authority’s consideration and approval (by February meeting);
  5. To monitor delivery of the CIP; and
  6. To report regularly to Corporate Governance Committee on the work of the Group and progress against the ambitions expressed within the CIP.

Membership of the Group must include the Authority’s Chairman Vice Chairman, Chief Executive and Treasurer. The Group should also include other Members and officers as appointed by the Chairman.

The Group should meet as frequently as circumstances demand, but at least 5 times per year.
