With degrees in Local Government and Social Studies, Patric Welch has spent a career in local government including 22 years working for West Sussex County Council in various senior management positions, ending as Head of Democratic Services. Patric is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and was made a Freeman of the City of London in 1994. Patric was Deputy Clerk then Deputy Chief Executive for the Police Authority from 2004 before becoming Chief Executive in 2011. Patric leads for the Authority on Governance issues and Counter Terrorism.
