Emma was born and brought up in East Sussex and went to Lewes Priory School and Sussex Downs College. Emma obtained a Diploma in Medical Secretarial studies.
Emma previously worked for a GPs surgery in Brighton, for the Medical Director of American Express and joined Social Services in 1994 where she worked in Child Protection. Since 2000 Emma has worked for Sussex Police Authority.
Emma currently manages the Safer Neighbourhoods Grants Scheme, administers the Protective Services Scrutiny Committee and covers East Sussex as her area of responsibility. One of Emma's priorities for the early part of 2010 is to be the CCTV Scheme Manager and to recruit volunteers into the first CCTV Monitoring scheme in England and Wales.
